Dashboard

The Custom Skin dashboard is a web-based editor where players can upload, customize, and preview their animated skins.

Accessing the Dashboard

  1. Run /skin link in-game
  2. Click the link in chat
  3. The dashboard opens in your browser

The link is unique to your account and expires after 24 hours for security.

Uploading a Skin

Supported Formats

  • Static skin: 64×64 PNG
  • Animated skin: 64×128, 64×192, etc. (64px per frame, stacked vertically)
  • Maximum frames: 16

Upload Methods

  1. Drag & drop a PNG file onto the upload zone
  2. Click to browse and select a file
  3. Click the upload button in the timeline bar when viewing a skin

Animation Settings

Frame Duration

Controls how fast the animation plays. Measured in game ticks (20 ticks = 1 second).

Loop Mode

  • Loop - Animation repeats continuously
  • Once - Animation plays once then holds the last frame
  • Ping-pong - Animation plays forward then backward

Cape Type

Select a cape overlay to apply to your skin. This is cosmetic and applies Mojang-signed cape textures.

Effects Panel

Apply visual effects to your current skin frame:

Hue Shift

Rotate all colors around the color wheel. Useful for creating color variants of the same skin.

Saturation

Adjust color intensity:

  • -100% - Grayscale
  • 0% - Original
  • +100% - Vivid, saturated colors

Brightness

Adjust overall brightness without washing out colors.

Generate Variants

Automatically create animated skins from a static skin:

3D Preview

The 3D viewer shows how your skin will look in-game:

  • Drag to rotate the view
  • Scroll to zoom in/out
  • Play button to preview animation

Saving Changes

Changes are applied automatically when you:

  • Upload a new skin
  • Apply effects
  • Generate variants

For settings changes (frame duration, loop mode), click Save Changes to apply them.

Real-time Sync

When you save changes, they’re pushed to the server via WebSocket. Your skin updates in-game within seconds without needing to reconnect.
